Many taxi theory mistakes come from mixing responsibilities, time limits or the order of actions. Reviewing these patterns is more useful than memorising an isolated correct letter. Use each error to identify the detail you failed to notice.
Confusing total questions with scored questions
Part 1 contains 70 questions, of which 65 count, with at least 48 correct scored answers required. Part 2 contains 50 questions, of which 46 count, with at least 34 correct required. The extra questions are for evaluation. Use the correct denominator when interpreting the official pass requirement.
Mixing different validity periods
Passing both theory modules within six months is one requirement. The maximum age of test results at application is another. The medical certificate has its own freshness requirement. Write a separate date next to each step rather than treating them as one general expiry date.
This matters when you spread preparation over time or combine it with a practical test. Read the licence overview and check actual booking and application instructions before relying on a timetable copied from another person.
Treating payment as permission to skip documentation
An app payment, fixed fare and invoice are different payment arrangements, but they do not automatically remove the equipment and documentation requirements for the relevant vehicle category. Start by identifying the category and the stage of the journey. Then decide which action is required.
Similarly, taxiförarlegitimation and taxitrafiktillstånd are not interchangeable words. One concerns the driver and the other the operator. Learn which role a question describes before choosing an answer about responsibility.
Adding rest outside the relevant window
In a rolling 24-hour calculation, part of a rest period may fall outside the window being assessed. Adding the whole original period can give an impressive but incorrect total. Draw the window boundaries first, then count the included minutes. Review both duration and the conditions for dividing rest.
Reading only the translation
The official theory tests are in Swedish. Learn Swedish terms in context, especially words that distinguish duties, permissions and exceptions. English explanations are helpful when you then practise recognising the same distinction in Swedish. Use the glossary and study plan.
A better correction routine
After an error, write the missed condition and explain why your chosen answer fails. Change one detail and solve the revised situation. Finally, return to the original rule in part 1 or part 2. That creates a useful revision record instead of a list of answer letters.
Frequently asked questions
Should I memorise the answers to online practice questions?
Learn the reasoning. Taxitest provides original examples; they are not represented as the official examination question bank.
Does this page list the statistically most common examination errors?
It describes useful learning pitfalls. It does not claim access to confidential examination statistics or a measured ranking of candidates' mistakes.
