  1. A customer points to the taxi's comparison price and asks which journey it describes. Which explanation is correct?

    • A. Every journey within the municipality, regardless of distance and time.
    • B. A standard journey of 10 kilometres taking 15 minutes.
    • C. Any journey taking exactly 10 minutes.
    • D. The customer's final fare for every destination.

    Rätt svar: B

The comparison price describes a standard 10-kilometre, 15-minute journey, including the relevant fare components and VAT. It helps customers compare offers. Explain separately how the actual journey will be priced.

  2. Two rest periods of seven and four hours lie entirely within the relevant preceding 24 hours. Do they meet the divided daily-rest condition for light-vehicle taxi rules?

    • A. Yes, because they total 11 hours.
    • B. Yes, if both are entered in the personal record.
    • C. No, because neither period is at least eight hours.
    • D. No, because daily rest can never be divided.

    Rätt svar: C

The total is 11 hours, but divided rest must be in two periods with one of at least eight hours. Seven plus four does not meet that period condition. Recording the periods correctly does not change their duration.

  3. Two points are four centimetres apart on a map at a scale of 1:50,000. What is the real straight-line distance?

    • A. 200 metres.
    • B. 2 kilometres.
    • C. 20 kilometres.
    • D. 50 kilometres.

    Rätt svar: B

Four centimetres multiplied by 50,000 equals 200,000 centimetres. This is 2,000 metres, or two kilometres. Keep the same units when multiplying, then convert them.

  4. A customer is late and asks you to exceed the speed limit. Traffic already requires close attention. What is the best response?

    • A. Drive faster because the customer accepts responsibility.
    • B. Explain that you will drive safely and legally, and continue on a reasonable route.
    • C. Promise an exact arrival time despite unknown queues.
    • D. Start a long argument while driving.

    Rätt svar: B

The customer cannot authorise a breach of the speed rules. A short factual explanation maintains the safety boundary. You can help with route choice and information while keeping responsibility for safe driving.

  5. A passenger using a mobility aid is about to enter the car. You are unsure what assistance is needed. What should you do first?

    • A. Grab the person immediately to speed things up.
    • B. Ask what help is needed and how it should be provided.
    • C. Assume the person cannot answer because they use an aid.
    • D. Move the aid without explaining.

    Rätt svar: B

The passenger can describe what works and how to assist. Ask before touching the person or aid. Choose a suitable place and follow the instructions for any transport equipment.

Practise Swedish taxi theory with original questions and explained answers in English. Use the exercises to understand situations and learn the Swedish terms alongside them. This is preparation material; the official taxi theory tests are held in Swedish.

How to use the questions

Answer before reading the explanation. Then identify the detail that decides the answer: the time of a transport, the role of the operator, or a restriction on stopping. Try changing that detail and ask whether the answer would change.

The exercises are translated versions of Taxitest scenarios. They are not taken from Trafikverket's protected question bank and do not predict which questions you will receive.

Two areas to prepare

Safety and behaviour covers topics such as navigation, passengers, risk and vehicle knowledge. Legislation includes taxi rules, rest periods and traffic regulations. A small free selection cannot measure your complete readiness for either test.

The official first theory test has 70 questions and the second has 50. Only 65 and 46 respectively count towards the result. The pass requirements are 48 and 34 correct answers, with 50 minutes of ordinary time for each test.

Learn from a rest-period example

For light-vehicle taxi rules, divided daily rest needs at least 11 hours in the relevant preceding 24-hour window, in two periods with one of at least eight hours. Seven plus four hours totals 11, but does not meet the eight-hour period condition.

That example shows why understanding a condition matters more than remembering a number. Use the glossary for words such as dygnsvila and personlig tidbok.

Choose the next study step

Read the Swedish taxi licence guide in English for the process. For deeper theory, follow the linked Swedish topic pages and practise reading the official terminology. Apply for any official test support through Trafikverket's process.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take the official test in English?

This English study material does not change the official Swedish test language. Check the authority's taxi-specific rules about support.

Does a high practice score guarantee a pass?

No. Use new situations and cover both theory subjects. Practical driving and the other licence requirements are separate.
