Safety and behaviour is the first subject group of the Swedish taxi theory examination. It tests decisions about passengers, routes, vehicles and risks. English explanations are useful when they help you understand the situation and recognise the corresponding Swedish words.
Format and the eight subject areas
Delprov 1 contains 70 questions in total. Sixty-five are scored and five are evaluation questions. You need at least 48 correct scored answers, with an ordinary test time of 50 minutes. You cannot identify an evaluation question simply because it seems unfamiliar, so give every question your best considered answer.
The scored subject distribution is navigation 10, driving economy 6, environment 6, safety 10, passenger service 12, illness and disability 8, work environment and risk awareness 6, and vehicle knowledge 7. Use that distribution to check coverage; concentrating entirely on traffic signs leaves important parts of this module unprepared.
Study actions rather than isolated words
For navigation, practise finding a location, interpreting a map and checking whether a suggested route is suitable. For passenger service, practise clarifying a request while maintaining safe driving. For disability-related situations, distinguish a person's assistance needs from the safe use of the vehicle's equipment.
For example, a wheelchair's parking brake and its vehicle restraint are different things. The brake can limit rolling during boarding, but it does not establish that the chair is secured for transport. Identify the missing safety step before thinking about punctuality or customer pressure. Read the explanation to a question even when your chosen answer happens to be correct.
A focused revision method
After each practice session, record whether your error came from an unfamiliar Swedish term, an overlooked fact or the wrong order of actions. Those problems need different solutions. A glossary helps with terminology; a new example helps with understanding; a checklist helps with sequence.
Explain the correct answer in your own words, then change one condition: daylight becomes darkness, a familiar address becomes an unfamiliar destination, or a seated passenger needs another type of assistance. If the explanation no longer works, revisit the principle. Follow the study plan to spread this work over several sessions.
Keep the two theory modules distinct
This module is not the entire licensing process. You must also prepare for legislation in part 2 and the practical taxi driving test. The official theory examination is in Swedish; learn terms such as bemötande, fordonskännedom and riskmedvetenhet alongside their meanings.
Frequently asked questions
Is the pass mark 48 out of 70?
The rule is at least 48 correct answers among the 65 scored questions. The five additional evaluation questions do not count towards your result.
Does a good practice score prove I am ready?
It describes that practice set. Read explanations, review weak subject areas and practise unfamiliar situations before drawing conclusions about your preparation.
