The cost of a Swedish taxi driver licence combines test fees, the licensing application, the licence card and your own preparation expenses. A useful budget separates fixed authority charges from medical, training and travel costs instead of presenting one price as everyone's total.

These items total 5,090 SEK without a Trafikverket rental car. Renting Trafikverket's car for the driving test adds 800 SEK, producing 5,890 SEK. Neither amount includes your medical certificate, study material, lessons, travel or retests. The photograph is one first-test item in this example, not a new charge automatically added to every theory module.

Evening appointments and retests

Theory tests after 18:00 and on weekends cost 520 SEK per module, and the corresponding driving test costs 1,400 SEK. With the other example fees unchanged, the authority subtotal becomes 5,690 SEK without rental or 6,490 SEK with one rented car.

A retest is a new paid attempt. For example, one additional daytime theory attempt adds 420 SEK. One additional daytime driving attempt adds 1,000 SEK, with another 800 SEK if you rent the car again. Budget for these possibilities without assuming that everybody will need them. Check the official booking price again before paying, because fees can change.

Personal costs need actual quotations

Medical-certificate prices depend on the provider. Training costs depend on whether you choose self-study, instruction or driving lessons. A course price is not automatically an all-inclusive licence price. Ask what the provider's fee actually covers and whether any separate test bookings are included.
